A few days ago I was invited to a launch event for the Redmi Watch, which is a smartwatch developed by Xiaomi’s Indian subsidiary. The Redmi Watch is a rival to the Gear S2, and it was launched in China earlier this year. At the launch event, I got to play around with the device for a while. I’ll share my thoughts on the device in a post later today, but for now, here’s a quick teaser of what to expect from the Redmi Watch.
Xiaomi today confirmed its first smartwatch, the Redmi Watch, will launch in India on May 13. The watch is designed to work with both iOS and Android devices and will cost from Rs. 2,999, which is less than the Mi A1. The Redmi Watch will run on Xiaomi’s MIUI Android operating system and features a 1.39-inch display along with a 48-hour battery life. The watch will connect to both Wi-Fi and 4G networks.

The reason for preferring the Lite version over the Mi Watch could be the price. Mi Watch and Mi Watch Color are only available in your country. At first glance, the Redmi Watch features a 1.4-inch IPS LCD touchscreen. The large screen is big enough to read any text message or social media post. In addition to a large number of training modes, the watch is equipped with a GPS sensor. It helps you keep track of your outdoor activities and location. Redmi offers more than 100 watch faces that allow you to change the look of your smartwatch. The Redmi Watch will last 12 days on a single charge, and in power saving mode you can expect even longer battery life. As for health tracking, users get continuous monitoring of heart rate, sleep, blood oxygen and swimming. It also measures stress and breathing to control it. The price of the Redmi Watch has not been confirmed yet, but we expect it to be under Rs. 10,000. After the Redmi Band, there is now another wearable product from the company for Indian users.
